Mommy & Me

After a few years off.... Mommy and Me is back! This class is strictly for the children who are 12-20 months eager to dance. The class structure is the same as the Pre School One & Two programs, although Moms are asked to  accompany their children into the classroom. Moms will play an active roll in this class along with their teacher. This is a wonderful class for the children to interact with their parent , along with other children their age. Once the children are potty trained, and ready to leave their mother's side we quickly advance them to the Pre School One Program.

Creative Movement

This program is for students who are 20-30 months old.

Pre School One & Two

Our Pre School One program is for ages 2 ½ through 3 ½,  Pre- School Two is for ages 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 at time of registration. These classes are offered on a daily basis at varied times and are one hour in length. The purpose of our Pre School One and Two program is to introduce the love of dance. The children learn the experience of a class environment; following the teacher, partnering, and listening. They are also able to dance freely in their own way!  The class is a half hour of ballet, and a half hour of tap. The children will learn the basics of ballet such as the five positions,  stretching, isolations, and progressions across the floor. All portions of the classes are taught through imaginative play, to keep the class fun! The second half of the class is tap. The children, once again, are taught the very basic tap steps. Fun songs, such as Ellie The Elf, are used to teach the beginnings of the tap world! The children will also work on traveling tap steps across the floor. The class ends with a game of freeze dance and stickers! After students have completed the Pre-School programs they will advance till B/T 1.

Tumbling For Toddlers

Our Tumbling For Toddlers Program is a wonderful introduction to the art of acrobatics. The class begins with a series of  stretching and strengthening techniques and then moves on to have the children  travel down the mats one at a time to practice their skills. All skills at the Performing Arts Academy are taught through progression. The children learn to hop on two feet, one foot, and  bear walks. These skills are taught to enhance the childrens cordination. As the session moves on the children are taught the basic tumbles; forward rolls, straddle rolls, and pencil rolls. The main goal in Tumbling for Toddlers, is to hold a bridge properly and to achieve the understanding of a cartwheel. Some children pick up faster, and in turn are taught harder skills such as one handed cartwheels, or they are advanced to the next level, Acro 1. This program is more geared for 4 year olds, however we have had some pretty amazing 3 year olds attend this class in the past! In all, Tumbling For Toddlers is a wonderful experience to open the children's mind to a world of acrobatics and fun!

Pre School Jazz
Pre School Jazz is a newly added program to the Performing Arts Academy.  This class is designed for young children aged  3 & 4 who would like to try a faster pace class. Children will learn the basic jazz techniques as well as rhythm and musical timing. Due to it still being a preschool program, the classes are still taught through fun and imaginative play while learning !
